America loves candy, and it's no secret that these sweet treats are a big part of the culture. Hundreds of candies made in America have made their way into other countries, such as Hershey's chocolate, which should be on every sweet tooth's bucket list, and Mars, the maker of M&M's. But today, we will be looking at 16 candies that are only available in the USA. People in NYC should visit Dylan’s Candy Bar - one of the wildest candy bars in the country.

Some candies are polarizing, and others that almost everybody loves, and there are definitely some that people in other countries would absolutely love to have, such as candies that can only be found in the UK or sweets that are loved by people in Asia. We will be looking at candies ranging from sweet, sour, chocolatey, and sweet and salty. It is amazing sometimes to think how far chocolate has come from ancient times when it was an Aztec drink.

They start off sour but quickly fade into sweet hard candy. This brand is a big hit with sour heads. They also have chewy candy, spray candy, and candy canes for the holidays. The candy canes are not as sour, but the sourness remains throughout the experience.

Butterfinger Candy

We finally shook things up by talking about chocolatey candy. Butterfingers are crunchy peanut butter candy with chocolate on the outside that has gained popularity with their marketing and unique taste/texture.

They have changed their recipe for the bar as the parent company has changed hands, but it won't hit markets until next year. Now owned by chocolatier Ferraro, it remains to be seen if the public will embrace the change. You can also find this candy in the form of peanut butter cups, much like Reese's cup. Even though the recipe change has been polarizing, this chocolate candy remains an American favorite.

  • Cost: $1.34 for each Butterfinger Chocolatey, Peanut-Buttery, Full Size Candy Bars, 1.9 oz (Walmart)

Gushers are really interesting. They are a fruit snack filled with a fruity liquid. The outside shell is pretty much the same as a Fruit Roll-Up (they are under the same company), and the inside holds a sweet fruity drink of a syrupy consistency.

There is a wide variety of flavors to choose from. Much like so many fruity candies, they also come in sour. Interestingly, they also come in spicy flavors via the sweet and fiery variety. They are primarily marketed towards children, but they are popular in America at any age demographic. You can find them in the same aisle as the fruit snacks in stores.

  • Cost: $2.97 for each Gushers Fruit Flavored Snacks, Strawberry Splash and Tropical, 6 ct (Walmart)

We mentioned earlier in this list that Butterfinger has its own peanut butter cup, but it started. This trendy American candy became big primarily because of World War II, and due to its influence on candy in America, it blew up big time. A Reese's cup is a peanut butter candy surrounded by a chocolate shell, and it's vastly different from a Butterfinger.

Unlike the crunchy, flaky insides of a Butterfinger, Reese's peanut butter is soft and slightly salty. You can get Reese's cups in various styles, from the big kind with tons of peanut butter inside to thins to minis.

  • Cost: $2.37 for each Reese's, Milk Chocolate Peanut Butter Snack Size Cups Candy, Gluten Free, 0.55 oz, Packs (12 Ct) (Walmart)

Although coconut is a relatively polarizing flavor, Almond Joy has still found success in America. Simultaneously, we can also bring up Mounds, the sister product to Almond Joy.

The difference between these two products is that Mounds has dark chocolate instead of milk chocolate and doesn't come with almonds. Aside from the differences, they both satisfy anyone who is a fan of coconut. They come in a variety of sizes, from bite-sized, and fun-sized to original-sized bars.

  • Cost: $1.32 for each Almond Joy, Coconut and Almond Standard Candy Bar, 1.61 oz (Walmart)

They aren't anything exceptional, but they are a popular Halloween treat to hand out during trick or treating. There is the typical sour variety that's simply a more sour version of the original, and then you have a spicy cinnamon flavor, as well as chewy candy and chewy candy with a hard shell on the outside.

The red flavors are the most popular. In fact, they are so popular you can get an entire bag exclusively with the red flavors; these red flavors are cherry, fruit punch, watermelon, and strawberry. The name was initially meant to signal the good nature of the west.

The country enjoys many kinds of excellent Hershey's chocolates. As it is one of the largest confectionary companies, Hershey's can be found in some countries around the world. Hershey's Cookies 'n' Creme Bar

Another of the most loved Hershey's products is Cookies 'n' Creme. It is similar in taste to an Oreo and is one of the few success stories for the few white chocolate candy bars. That being said, many will argue that white chocolate is not chocolate, but that will be left up to the reader to decide for themselves. While the Cookies 'n' Creme is hard to find in many countries, it is one of the few Hershey's bars found in the United Kingdom.

  • Cost: $1.32 for each Hershey's Cookies 'n' Creme Candy, Individually Wrapped, 1.55 oz, Bar (Walmart)
