The human imagination never goes to rest. It is never satisfied. This is why one cannot help but think about things that do not exist. It’s not such a terrible thing and everybody is guilty of this because sometimes, the regular things around become boring which leaves the mind longing for something else. Something or somewhere that does not exist yet we wish we could visit.

Take a deep breath with closed eyes, and then proceed to check out these destinations and attractions. They do not exist physically on Earth, but they sure exist in our imaginations. Be sure to keep an open mind while reading and keep in mind that many attractions in the world we enjoy today originated from the imagination.

10 The Hanging Gardens Of Babylon

All the interesting pictures painted in our heads over the years about the Hanging Gardens of Babylon just make it particularly appealing. This garden is said to have been built by Nebuchadnezzar II himself and it was so magnificent that it made it to the list of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World.

Writers of old described this garden as a place where all kinds of trees and plants were planted and water was raised to the gardens by water mechanics. All these incredible attributes are interesting enough to earn the Hanging Gardens of Babylon a place in the list of places and attractions we wish were in existence.

Middle Earth. A place of history, adventure, and magic. Just thinking about it is exciting and the feeling is pleasant. Oh, how we wish this fictional realm was a real place on earth.

It would have been epic to be able to farm and get drunk with hobbits in the shire, hunt with men near Minas Tirith, get lost in the mines of Moriah, chill with Ents in Fangorn forest, and bathe in crystal clear waters at Rivendell. Oh, the feeling.

Middle Earth may not be a real place on Earth but you can feel like Frodo and Sam with the ultimate Middle Earth-inspired itinerary.

8 The Tower Of Babel

Imagine being able to hike up thousands of stairs maybe for a period of 15 to twenty days and then end up in space! Incredible right? Well, that’s the kind of excitement the world would have enjoyed if the Tower of Babel still existed today.

Unfortunately, the world today is only left with interesting stories of this incredible manmade creation, and we deeply wish it was still around today.

7 A Floating House

Disney Pixar’s UP movie inspired this one. Remember the 78-year-old Carl Fredricksen who tied millions of balloons to his house and floated away to the edge of Paradise Falls on the trip he had always wanted to take with his late wife Ellie? That movie has inspired an undying wish.

Of course, there are hot air balloons, but this is different, and it would be super exciting to be in a house floating in the sky. Maybe it may not necessarily be tied to millions of balloons. The idea is just to live in a house that floats in the air even if it’s just for a few days or hours.

Keep in mind that floating is not the same as flying so no; airplanes do not fulfill the wish. It’s a floating house or nothing else!

These floating hotels around the world might offer a little bit of this experience.

6 A Cave Inhabited By A Dragon

Imagine tiptoeing into a cave inhabited by a mighty fire-breathing dragon. Then the monster suddenly wakes up and starts to breathe fire. That would be super epic.

Movies with scenes like this are interesting and it would even be more magical to have a place like this in real life. Although such an attraction can only be experienced in a dream, there’s no harm in keeping the wish alive.

Many countries around the world have mythological creatures like dragons as their national animals and are excellent places to visit to keep this dream alive.

5 Spaceships

People often go on cruises, road trips, and train trips, but what about space trips? It would be super exciting to be able to book a trip through space which is why we strongly wish spaceships were available.

Perhaps in a few hundred years, humans will be able to bring the idea to life but before then, we cannot help but imagine what the trip would feel like.

The idea of having a hotel in space has only become stronger in recent years. Now a space agency is even on the mission of having a space hotel established by 2027. Even though a huge percentage of the world has serious doubt about that, we still wish there was a hotel in space where visitors would have views of the Milky Way from their windows.

Obsessed with space? Check out these space-theme hotels around the world.

3 A Hotel On Mars

A hotel on Mars is quite different from one in space and perhaps even more unique. This is because, for decades, humans have been trying to get to that planet and maybe establish some kind of colony there.

So far, only some super tough rovers and landers have been able to go there, and it could take centuries for humans to ever step foot on the harsh surface of Mars. Still, we can’t help but wish we could book a night or two in a hotel that stands on the surface of Mars.

Humans always have this longing to have a taste of the supernatural or at least connect to it in some way. This longing has birthed this wish and while this might not be within the reach of normal people, we still wish for a kind of gateway that leads to the realm of the dead, where another planet or Galaxy exists.

A gateway where one could just walk through and find oneself surrounded by dead loved ones or great men of old like Alexander the Great, Albert Einstein, Hector of Troy, Cleopatra, or Rameses II. Or perhaps it could lead to a hidden gem on Mars or a gathering of aliens in say Jupiter or Saturn. It would be an experience of a lifetime.

1 A Time Machine That Takes Us Back In Time

They say we have to let go of the past and look forward to the future but to be sincere, we really can't. This is because the most interesting events in human history have happened in the past.

Who wouldn't love the opportunity to step back in time to 480 BC to witness the iconic battle of Thermopylae? Or get to watch how the Great Pyramid of Giza or Stonehenge was built? We would love to know what Gobekli Tepe — the oldest religious site in the world — was used for.

The destruction of Pompeii, Roman amphitheater events, and the Fall of Troy are all events the world would have loved to witness firsthand. We could discover a lot of secrets that would change the world. We could get to see giants, dinosaurs, ancient human ancestors, and many other interesting things.

A working time machine would have made all these possible and people would gladly offer their entire life savings for a chance to get the experience.

Theoretically, Time Travel is possible but to date, there has been no breaking point on the concept. Read more about Time Travel here.
