Brooklyn Book Festival will once more invite writers and bibliophiles to their global festival in Fall 2023, this time from as far away as Brooklyn and from all across the world. The Brooklyn Book Festival is dedicated to putting on a significant literary event that is free to the public and reflects the city's vibrant, multiethnic book culture.

In 2006, when the Festival first started, the motto "hip, smart, diverse" was adopted. These words are a component of the Brooklyn Book Festival’s mission statement and serve as a guide for developing an innovative and welcoming festival each year. In 2023, all five boroughs will host activities during the Citywide Bookend, as well as some online.

To jointly create a literary festival in all five boroughs, these literary-themed activities are offered at libraries, clubs, bookstores, cultural institutions, and performance places.
